Love in the Dark: Sizzling Dark Romance Reads to Celebrate Valentine's
Trigger Warnings galore <3
The weather is bad which means I packed the Kindle library last night and I’m all set to spend hours upon hours fan-girling over the types of men I would definitely call the cops on in real life. Here’s a little list of what I’ll be chowing down on the rest of the week!
1. Little Lies and Valentines: Lashell Rain
Admittedly, I went ahead and devoured this one last night. It was too tempting not to. It was a super quick read but that doesn’t mean it didn’t deliver! At under 200 pages, I didn’t expect a ton of plot, but it was still a full meal. Alexander is stalkery, murdery, and over-the-top protective. He goes above and beyond to care for his Valentine and makes her feel safe when she’s been scared for too long. Stalking, revenge, and a perfect blend of spice made this a great V-day read!
2. Knives and Kisses: Aurelia Knight
I don’t typically do “sports romances,” but one thing I do is read pretty much anything by Aurelia Knight. The way she writes obsession must be contagious, because I am obsesssed. Valen Throne is an autosexual whose only obsession has been himself his whole life. That is, until he finds someone even more fascinating than himself. A jock and a goth? Sign me up!
3. Sheer Cupidity: Raven Kennedy
You know I had to throw in a bit of romantasy! Cupids and their fantastical mates come together in the Heart Hassle series. The first four books are why-choose and I’ll probably get to those as well, but I’m more of a monogomous girlie most days, so I think I’ll start at the end and then maybe go back to the beginning? We’ll see.
4. Midnight Valentine: J.T. Geissinger
This one is for those who loved PenPal. It wasn’t for everyone, but it was most definitely for me! I love a bit of haunting, thrilling plot twists, and an unconventional ever after (where ‘happy’ is open to interpretation).
5. My Funny Demon Valentine: Aurora Ascher
I’m a sucker for a dark rom-com! I don’t think any book has made me laugh as hard as Butcher and Blackbird and I’m excited to dive into this one.
The sizzling chemistry of Brynne Weaver and laugh-out-loud humor of Kimberly Lemming and Hannah Nicole Maehrer meet Jenna Levine and Jeneane O’Riley’s fresh spin on paranormal tropes in this wickedly funny, warm-hearted demon romance with just the right amount of spice from the bestselling author of SANCTUARY OF THE SHADOW.
Now it’s time to gather my snacks, fill my water, and turn on DND so I can climb back in bed and tear into these delicious reads! xoxo
